SNS College of Engineering – Department of Computer Applications

The Department of Computer Applications (MCA) was established in the year 2009 with an intake of 60 students.The Department has the state-of-the-art laboratory facility, a well-equipped seminar hall, Wi-Fi enabled classrooms to support E-Learning and a Departmental Library. Our Department is recognized as a Research Center by Anna University to do Ph.D.


To be recognized as a Centre of Excellence in Academic and Research, and endeavor for constant up-gradation of technical expertise of the faculty members to cater to the needs of the students and the society.


  • To make all students pass their examination with the highest grades.
  • To conduct number of in-house and out-side training programs for improving the employable skills of the students.
  • At least one Research paper is published by every faculty member during a year.
  • To conduct National level(Symposia/Conferences/ Seminars / Workshops/FDPs) for students and faculty members.
  • To get the Accreditation status from the NBA
Program Educational Objectives

PEO 1. To excel in problem solving and programming skills in the various computing fields of IT industries
PEO 2. To develop the ability to plan, analyze, design, code, test, implement & maintain a software product for real time system
PEO 3. To promote students capability to set up their own enterprise in various sectors of Computer applications
PEO 4. To experience the students in finding solutions and developing system based applications for real time problems in various domains involving technical, managerial, economical & social constraints
PEO 5. To prepare the students to pursue higher studies in computing or related disciplines and to work in the fields of teaching and research.


PO1. Understand and Apply mathematical foundation, computing and domain knowledge for the conceptualization of computing model of problems.
PO2.  Identify, Analyze the computing requirements of a problem and Solve them using computing principles.
PO3. Design and Evaluate a computer based system, components and process to meet the specific needs of applications.
PO4. Use current techniques and tools necessary for complex computing practices.
PO5. Use suitable architecture or platform on design and implementation with respect to performance
PO6. Develop and integrate effectively system based components into user environment.
PO7. Understand and commit to Cyber regulations and responsibilities in Professional computing practices.

PO9. Apply the understanding of management principles with computing knowledge to manage the projects in multidisciplinary environments.
