Centre of Excellence – Robotic Process Automation

SNS College of Engineering & Automation Anywhere University established Coimbatore’s first Centre-of-Excellence in the field of Robotics Process Automation (BOT Lab) by Department of Computer Science & Engineering and Information Technology on 6/2/2019.  Mr. S. Krishna Raju, Manager Business Development, University Alliance at Automation Anywhere, Bangalore unveiled the plaque at CSE & IT Lab.

The inaugural ceremony of the Centre of Excellence on “Robotic Process Automationcommenced with the lighting of Kuthuvilakku at RM Hall by a group of dignitaries.

Dr. S. Babu Devasenapati, Director – CFC, SNS Institutions initiated the instance by welcoming the gathering and added that it is the special MOU signed for the college by the tireless efforts taken by 278 students upon completing the RPA courses. Dr. N. Suresh Kumar, Principal, SNS College of Engineering presided over the function.  He thanked the Chief Guest for signing the MOU and encouraged the students by explaining about the impact of technology in their day-to-day life.

Dr. V. P. Arunachalam Director, SNS Technical Institutions addressed the gathering. He induced the faculty members and the students to take up the training actively thereby bringing laurels and rewards to them as well as to the institution. Dr. I. Kala, Head of the CSE Department, divulged the Chief Guest Profile.

A Memorandum of Understanding was exchanged between SNS College of Engineering and Automation Anywhere University, and established a Centre of Excellence on Robotics Process Automation (BOT Lab).

The informative speech was given by the Chief Guest Mr. S. Krishna Raju, Manager Business Development, University Alliance at Automation Anywhere, Bangalore. He gave a vivid picture about the company and explained in a nutshell about the sponsorship of installing the software worth 70 lakhs. The training will be given for the Group of SNS Institutions (SNS Engineering, Tech. and Arts & Science) and based on the performance of the students the 100% placement will be given by the company with higher package. After a student completes the certification course in RPA, he becomes a professional expert who can adapt themselves to beat the challenges present in the fast growing industry where Software Automation is in demand. He mentioned about the tireless efforts taken by the faculty members who meticulously monitored the progression of the students. He put forth that the students should identify their skills to achieve their goal. He assures through the Centre of Excellence the students will be enhanced to meet the top MNC’s target and expectation.

The Vote of Thanks was delivered by Dr. B. Anuradha, Head, Information Technology. Finally the program ended with a note that All Engineering students should be offered value added certification program which would help in preparing the next generation of automation professionals for the global IT Industry.

RPA Professional Training Course

Department of IT & CSE, jointly organized AAU Certified Essential RPA Professional Training Programme powered by Automation Anywhere University at SNS College of Engineering, Coimbatore from 20th May to 22nd May 2019.

Mr.Kapil Raina, Product Trainer PRA, Automation Anywhere University was the resource person. He explained the brief introduction about RPA, benefits of RPA, enterprise customers for RPA. Robotic process automation is defined as the implementation of software robots that are configured at the graphic-user-interface level on individual computers, end-user devices, or by work-station—and in turn used to automate routine and repeatable tasks currently conducted by white-collar or knowledge-work employees.

He clearly explained the following points

  1. The RPA follows Client-Server architecture. It has two components Control Room and Client. The recorders used in RPA are Screen recorder, web recorder and Smart recorder. The demonstration on the above mentioned were given by the trainer.
  2. He started the second day by defining the types of variables like value, list, array and random. The constraints for variable name can be first small letter followed by the next upper case.
  3. On the third day, the students have the demonstration on the following contents
  • To automate web based applications and desktop applications
  • Error Handling
  • String operations
