B.Tech - Information Technology
The department of Information Technology was established in the year 2007, it offers 4 years B.Tech (IT) course which has an intake of 60 students for every academic year.
The great vision of the department of IT is to make the students to understand the prevailing situation that the world is in, problems faced, needs of the society, an to impart them the knowledge, then to train them according to that, so as to produce highly young, enthusiastic, intellectual, innovative world class technocrafts to serve the society for technical improvement and make the world techie. People from this background have opportunities to serve in every nook of the society. IT paves way for the world to be technised in the forthcoming years.
Computing Facilities
The facilities comprise of 140 networked PCs with the latest configuration of Intel Pentium - D - Dual Core 2.8 GHz systems with 17" LCD monitor installed in a fully air - contioned computer center. The servers are equipped with Altos G540 (2 - way server) with XEON 5050 3.0 GHz 2x2 M 667FSB (x1), 2 GB DDR II RAM and 160 GB Easy swap 7200 RPM SATA II HDD (x2). The servers run on Linux & Windows platform. All the departments are linked to a wide range of software, communications and print services. The open-access to 2 MBPS internet is a part of an extensive information network connecting the entire campus.
Added to this advanced hardware facilities, operating systems and softwares like Red Hat Linux, Windows 2000, novell, Windows XP, Windows 98, Oracle, IIS, SQL Server, Java, C, C++, Visual.net, Adobe Photoshop, Office 2000 and XP, AutoCAD 2002 are provided to the students through a switched network, that matches the best in this part of the state.
